The DFB-Pokal is a German knockout football cup competition held annually by the Deutscher Fußball-Bund (German Football Associaton). It is the most important cup competition in Germany. A total of 64 clubs compete in the tournament; clubs from the Bundesliga all the way to the cup winners of the regional football associations.
Every year, the final takes place in the Olympic Stadium in Berlin. The winner of the DFB-Pokal qualifies for the UEFA Europa League – unless the winner already qualifies for the UEFA Champions League. The most successful club that has won the most DFB-Pokal titles is Bayern Munich, followed by Werder Bremen, Eintracht Frankfurt, Borussia Dortmund, Schalke 04 and 1. FC Köln. Other clubs in that have won the DFB-Pokal title are Hamburger SV, Borussia Mönchengladbach and VfB Stuttgart.
